About Me

Welcome to my personal website! My name is Alex, and I am a software engineer at Foreflight. I graduated Cum Laude from Bowdoin College in May with a Bachelor of arts in Computer Science and Russian. My interests are hockey, snowboarding, guitar, and singing; not to mention I am always up for a game of chess. Recently, I have spent my time calculating runway intersection take off distances for the Foreflight application.

    Implemented a logistic regression model capable of predicting the outcomes of NHL games with 67.68% accuracy. Gathered data through web scraping NHL player statistics and selected an optimal feature combination of average goals, average assists, average +/-, and average faceoff win percentage to maximize accuracy. By utilizing player stats according to daily rosters, we surpassed previous ML studies, which achieved only 61.54% accuracy using team stats alone.
